I’m Michelle Balaban, a Registered Psychotherapist and founder of Mind Balance Counseling. With my passion for helping people and making a difference driving me, I founded Mind Balance Counseling to support people’s journeys toward their goals. Whether that’s guiding couples through marriage counseling, working with teens and adults suffering from anxiety or depression, or providing a safe space for people to share feelings of stress or grief, I’m here to support you.
A little about me
I’m passionate about helping people remember they’re not alone when they’re struggling with something. My passion led me to study at the University of Colorado, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I then received a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University. When I’m not helping others, I spend time with my two children, family, and friends. As a Colorado native, I love enjoying the beautiful, sunny outdoors.
Myths about therapy
If you’re new to therapy, you may have had thoughts such as, “therapy doesn’t work” or “I can fix it myself.” And that’s okay. These are very common thoughts. However, we know that these common misconceptions prevent people from enjoying the positive benefits that therapy can give them. Therapy can help people of all ages live happier, healthier, more productive lives. Our psychotherapy approach is collaborative: we help you work through any problems through open communication and guidance.
